Singapore to Regulate Trading Card Packs Over Gambling Concerns: MHA
Singapore is moving to regulate trading card packs and other mystery-box products because their random, collectible nature can act like gambling, particularly for kids and teens. Details and implementation dates are still being worked out.

30 Years of Pokémon: Celebrating the Icon That Started It All
The Pokémon franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary on 27 February 2026, exactly thirty years after it all began. On that day in 1996, Pokémon Red and Green were released in Japan, starting what would grow into one of the biggest franchises in the world. Fans already celebrate February 27 as Pokémon Day each year, but in 2026, the occasion becomes even more special as the franchise marks three decades of Pokémon magic.

PSA Raised Prices & Longer Grading
PSA just made grading more expensive and slower. As of February 10, 2026, submission fees increased across several tiers, and turnaround times were extended on the levels most TCG collectors actually use. That combination directly impacts card values, flipping margins, and overall market supply.
New PSA pricing:
Value Bulk: $21.99 → $24.99
Value: $27.99 → $32.99
Value Plus: $44.99 → $49.99
Value Max: $59.99 → $64.99
Regular: $74.99 → $79.99
Longer turnaround times:
Value Plus: 40 → 45 business days
Value Max: 30 → 35 business days
Regular: 20 → 25 business days
For collectors outside the U.S., the cost gap is even more noticeable. In places like Singapore, grading services are already around $44 per card, making the entry point significantly higher compared to PSA’s lower tiers in the past.
Higher grading costs raise the break-even point. Cards that used to make sense to grade at $20–$25 now need much stronger resale value to justify a $30–$50 submission fee. That likely reduces the number of lower-end or speculative cards being graded.
Longer turnaround times also tie up capital. Sellers wait longer to list, which slows supply entering the market and increases risk if prices dip while cards are still at PSA.
In short, grading just became more selective and more expensive globally. Expect fewer marginal cards getting slabbed, tighter margins for flippers, and more careful submission decisions across the hobby.

Pokémon × Natural History Presents “Pokécology”
The Pokémon Company International has teamed up with London’s Natural History Museum to launch Pokécology, a limited-time pop-up that imagines Pokémon as real-world species living inside natural ecosystems. Instead of battles and stats, the experience focuses on where Pokémon “live,” how they behave, and how they adapt to their environments.
The pop-up runs from 26 January to 19 April 2026 inside the museum’s Cranbourne Boutique.
There’s also a big incentive for collectors: an oversize “Pikachu at the Museum” Pokémon TCG promo card will be available with qualifying purchases, with wider availability at select UK retailers starting 30 January 2026.
